According to the brand, the 2022 model of the Panigale V4 has completed the most significant evolution since its birth, with improvements involving all areas, namely engine, chassis and aerodynamics.

In the 2023 versions of the Panigale V4, Panigale V4 S and Panigale V4 SP2, the advance is made through the adoption of an updated electronic package, capable of further increasing the riding sensation and performance on the track.

To improve stability, precision and directionality in braking and cornering, the 2023 Panigale V4 receives the new Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO 2 software, which features a different calibration from gear to gear at each of three selectable levels.

It also gets a new strategy for the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), improving gear shift fluidity at all degrees of throttle opening.

In addition, it received a new strategy for the cooler, capable of offering better management of operating temperatures and greater thermal comfort for the pilot.

Finally, the 2023 Panigale V4 has refined its Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ride by Wire electronic throttle strategies, allowing for even more precise action.

Engine and gearbox

The engine of the 2023 Panigale V4 is the MotoGP-derived 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4, capable of generating up to 215.5 HP of maximum power at 13,000 rpm, and 123.6 Nm (12.6 kgm) of maximum torque at 9,500 rpm.

The transmission is 6-speed with assist and slipper clutch, in addition to the quick-shift system. It has a gear ratio from the WorldSBK Championship, that is, geared towards racing.

Chassis

The 2023 Panigale V4 and V4 S have a lightweight front chassis made of magnesium, and the rear frame made of die-cast aluminum. The 2023 Panigale V4 S features a electronically controlled Öhlins NPX 25/30 pressurized fork, Öhlins TTX36 rear shock, Öhlins steering damper and 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels.

On the other hand, the 2023 Panigale V4 ships from the factory with a 43mm fully adjustable Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF), Sachs steering damper, fully adjustable Sachs rear damper and 5-spoke cast aluminum wheels.

Conclusion

Much like the Pulsar N250, the 2023 Pulsar N160 arrives with an aggressive and aerodynamic design with two-tone paint, darker in front and lighter in the rear.

It features LED lighting (headlights and taillights), with a front optical set similar to the Yamaha MT-03, with two LED lines for the daytime running light (DRL) and the LED projector for the high and low beam.

In addition, it has a sports exhaust system positioned under the engine, close to the bike’s general center of gravity, improving balance and handling.

According to the company, the 2023 Pulsar N160 features the best 37 mm front suspension in the category, which guarantees great handling and agility (only available in the version with Dual channel ABS).

At the rear, it is equipped with a monoshock suspension with Nitrox that offers precise handling and balance.

Engine and Technology

Bajaj informs that the engine that equips the 2023 Pulsar N160 is completely new. It is a single-cylinder 164.82 cm³ DTS-i oil cooled, Twin Spark engine, capable of generating up to 11.7 kW (16 HP) of maximum power at 8750 rpm, and 14.65 Nm (1.47 kgfm) of torque at 6750 rpm. In addition, it works together with a 5-speed gearbox.

In terms of technology, it has an ‘infinite’ panel with analogue tachometer in the center and digital LCD screen on the right, Gear indicator, LED lighting (only headlight, DRL and taillights), 300 mm brake disc at the front (280 mm for the one-channel ABS), one- or two-channel ABS brake system, and a USB port for charging your cell phone.

Finally, the model has 17″ aluminum wheels, equipped with 100/80-17 tires at the front and 130/70-17 at the rear. The fuel tank capacity is 14 liters and the kerb weight is 154 kg (Dual channel ABS) and 152 kg (Single channel ABS).

Anyway, the 2023 Bajaj Pulsar N160 Dual channel ABS sells in India for Rs 1,27,853 (approximately $1,635).
