The design of the 2025 PCX125 has been reworked, becoming more futuristic, according to the company. The LED headlights are interconnected by a ‘V’ strip that works as DRL, and which has the turn signals at its ends.

Another design detail that will divide opinions about the new PCX is the handlebars, which are now covered by plastic fairings, just like on other scooters.

In terms of technology, although the standard version has the current LCD instrument panel, the top-of-the-line ‘DX’ version gained a 5-inch color TFT panel with Smartphone connection via the Honda RoadSync app.

The DX version also gained a rear suspension with an external gas reservoir. The braking system is now disc on both wheels in both versions, replacing the drum on the rear wheel.

The engine remains the same 125cc eSP+ single-cylinder with liquid cooling, capable of generating up to 9.2kW (12.5 hp) of maximum power, and 11.7 Nm of torque. It features the Idling Stop system and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) as standard.

Finally, the new 2025 Honda PCX125 arrives in European stores in the new colors Mat Dim Gray Metallic, Pearl Snowflake White and Pearl Dark Ash Blue, alongside the Mat Galaxy Black Metallic.

Let’s explain the news: The new NMAX TURBO has a new technology called YECVT (Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission), which replaces the conventional CVT transmission. It is this system that gives an extra push when necessary.

Of course, we are talking about a scooter for urban travel, and with a low top speed. Information says that the gasoline engine does not propel the vehicle, it only generates electricity to charge the battery. It turns on automatically when the battery voltage drops from 75 to 60 volts.

This is different from some types of hybrid cars, where the internal combustion engine helps to ‘push’ the vehicle, contributing to a sportier performance.

But this type of combination is now also applied to motorcycles. Kawasaki recently launched its hybrid motorcycle, which can run on just the battery in 100% electric mode, or in electric + combustion mode, making riding more sporty and pleasurable.
